The Commanding Officer of the regiment, addressing the unit on this special occasion, paid rich tributes to the war heroes. He also emphasised the regiment's role in restoring peace, prosperity and tranquility in Assam. He outlined a number of civic action projects to be undertaken by the unit including the adoption of a village. The village would be provided with educational aids and guidance on employment opportunities, he said.
